This Musical Fidelity M1-CDT Transport is just that. It is not a normal CD player, this is called a Transport which means it does not have a built-in DAC. It must be connected to an outboard DAC and then to an amplifier or preamplifier. This provides a cleaner and noiseless signal than normal CD players.
