Do you play guitar and want something to thrash around and not worry? Do you or your kid want to learn guitar but don’t want to dump a ton of money if you’re not sure you’ll like it? Boom!
Making room for more guitars. I bought this Ibanez GRG121DX-WNF secondhand about a year ago as a project. What project? Well, the GIO series is a beginner guitar but I wanted something to tinker with and see if I can make it a bit better. Electronics were ripped out and the cavities all have copper foil. Pots were replaced with 500k’s as well as a new 5-way switch. Then came the Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickups. They’re one of the hottest pickups that are passive and can thrash metal but have bright clean tones. Lastly, the plastic nut had to go and a new custom filed graphite nut was installed. I finished it up by taking it to Fabiani Guitars in Calw for a professional setup with Ernie Ball 10s.
The amp is a Fender LT25 that has a ton of different tones to avoid buying a bunch of pedals and get right to jamming. It’s dual voltage so when it’s PCS time, it goes with you! It also comes with a foot switch so you can switch between a clean and a dirty tone and everything in between. The stand is staying unless it breaks the deal. To be fair it’s from Amazon and cheap but it’s waiting for a new guitar!
Altogether, you’re looking at close to 850€ if you went to Thomann now and got it professionally setup.
I’m asking 400€ which the amp and pickups alone are worth that. Located in Böblingen. Contact me to test it today!
