VW Caravelle Transporter Pop-top camper with documented 116,000 kilometers (72,000 miles). Four years ownership, previously owned only by German Police/Fire. European specifications but can be imported to the USA in 2026 without restriction or need for modifications. The 2.5 TDI 5-cylinder motor gets 30+ mpg and is front wheel drive. Retrofitted Diesel Particle Filter for green sticker and US emissions testing (DPF comes with official German paperwork). I have receipts for over 30,000 EUR invested (NOT including initial vehicle purchase price) in mechanical work and camper conversion. Automatic transmission completely rebuilt (over 10,000 EUR) and SCA pop-top tent professionally installed by TW-Reisemobile in 2022 (7000 EUR). Winter tires on 16 inch steel wheels, plus new all-season tires on 17 inch alloy wheels. We have driven this VW all over Europe, from the North Sea to the Mediterranean and to the Black Sea, etc.
Some of the things replaced or upgraded (under my ownership): Turbo, Glow plugs, thermostat, exhaust, oil pump, brand new brakes x4, brake fluid, shocks, pads, struts, control arms, various bushings, mass air flow sensor, vacuum hoses and valves (N18, N75, etc.), wheel alignment, various motor gaskets, electric window motor, external lights (original tail lights also included), stereo and 4x new speakers, brand new main battery under the hood, brand new deep cycle auxiliary battery under the front driver seat, all the power door locks for the remote central locking, 3x heated front seats, custom rubber front floor mats, reverse camera, and too many other new parts to list. Regular oil/fluid changes. Replaced air filter, pollen filter, oil filter, and fuel filter. There is super cold air conditioning, programmable auxiliary diesel heating for a warm morning entry or overnights off the grid, and much more.
Other new bits include: Two long lockable roof boxes are included, secured with airline rails and quick release fasteners that also work for a variety of other gear. Bike rack for 4, supported by new reinforced tailgate struts. Seats up to nine with belts and potential for 2/4/5 person sleep configuration with the top-notch Exped mattress (long-wide plus duo model $420 value). The electric sink cabinet and rear facing 2-man bench seat can easily be removed with four bolts each. The rear side bench seats fold up. The two different rear tables both have quick release mechanisms from the legs, and also the legs from the floor if you need non-camper transport space. There is a refurbished “teak and holly” table from an old boat and the second white table top is part of the DIY lower sleeping arrangement. All five rear panels and wheel wells are layered x3 with high quality insulation, as well as under the new floor. The floor is Laminat Kronotex and is in excellent condition (fake vintage look). Window tint, rear curtains, 3x thermal privacy windows for the front cabin, 2x rear cabin LED interior lighting, and countless hours invested. Wheel leveling ramps included. All receipts available for inspection. The undercarriage has been wax-oiled and looks good. The motor has an off-road police under-guard.
Additional: There is no fridge. We use a Yeti cooler. Small scratches and paint blemishes are consistent with the age. Smoke free household, no dogs/cats. Sale to US ID card-holder personnel only.
