The Stuttgart district Kaltental belongs together with Heslach, Lehen, Karlshöhe, Bopser, Südheim and Weinsteige to the district Stuttgart-Süd, which is located between the core city (Stuttgart-Mitte)
and Degerloch.
The subway line U 1 (Fellbach - Charlottenplatz - Vaihingen) runs through Kaltental with two stops within the district. On the northern edge runs the bus line 82 (Waldeck - University - Vaihingen - Rohr).
