The clear-glass bottle has no defects. It is 10.5 in. high and was found on Fort Monroe, VA, in 1979.
Background: In 1918 Fort Monroe had been expanded by about 25 acres using land fill. The expansion was necessary in order to increase the number of temporary buildings on post. (see: http://www.fortwiki.com/Fort_Monroe). The land fill contained many bottles, and this is one of them.
Fort Monroe is now a National Monument, which makes the bottle rather unique. It comes with a letter of authenticity from the finder, which includes the location it was found along with the circumstancess and date.
